Podere Sapaio’s 2015 vintage gets top marks from James Suckling.
Great news to coincide with our return from our summer vacation and the height of Podere Sapaio’s harvest: James Suckling, the world renowned wine critic, has given Sapaio 2015 a score of 96/100, and Volpolo 2015 a score of 93/100.
“We are extremely proud, to say the least, of such a score, especially since it comes from one of the most influential wine critics today; a narrator of wine, that throughout his career has tasted at least 150,000 wines and whose opinions attract the interest and respect of lovers & collectors across the entire wine industry. ”
On his website Suckling had this to say about SAPAIO 2015:
“So much fresh pressed violet and blackberry character as well as iodine, quartz, slate and tile. Full body, grippy yet linear and polished tannins, fine acidity and a long, minerally finish. So refined. Drink in 2020 “
While he said this about VOLPOLO:
“Fresh blackcurrant character as well as minerals, jasmine and some eucalyptus. Full-bodied with grippy tannins and a juicy, driven finish. Drink in 2020. ”
As we reach another milestone, we eagerly await what the future holds.
